At the "Women Entrepreneurs Meeting" held at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Yenikapı Event Area between 20-23 June 2024, in cooperation with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality CSO Directorate and the Istanbul Culture and Arts Association, T.R. Istanbul Kültür University Business Development Industrial and Sectoral Relations Unit (İGESİB) also took part.
On the first day of the event, our Head of the İGESİB Unit lecturer Selen Çeliköz and one of our academicians from the Department of Business Administration, Assist. Prof. Burçin Ataseven Doğru, had a conversation on "Women's Entrepreneurship in Türkiye".
In the interview, the importance of women's employment in achieving "Gender Equality", which is the 5th goal of the "Sustainable Development Goals", was emphasized. In this context, information was given about the training provided at our university and the state supports provided to women entrepreneurs. At the end of the talk, where the challenges faced by women and how women entrepreneurs can adapt to the green transformation were discussed, a survey was conducted on the needs and demands of the audience in the field of entrepreneurship and the results were recorded. In order to share the needs and demands in the field of entrepreneurship at the T.R Istanbul Kültür University Business Development, Industrial and Sectoral Relations Unit stand which remained open until the end of the fair, all female entrepreneurs were enabled to fill out the survey form both with the QR Code shared during the speech and by visiting our stand. Additionally, books from IKU Publishing House were gifted to the participants.
At the fair, which offers a diverse entrepreneurship climate, IKU İGESİB officials had the chance to meet with valuable women entrepreneurs from all over Türkiye, including earthquake zones.
